Chowmein Noodles | Veg Chowmein noodles recipe is very similar to Hakka noodles and is available as a local street food these days. Especially veg noodles and egg noodles are being popular in the streets.

The wok they use and the way they toss it with the vegetables and serve it super duper hot! Its just yummy. Choice of vegetables in this recipe can be of your choice. Carrots, cabbage, capsicum and onions are generally used.

Veg Noodles recipe:

Chowmein noodles

Servings: 3 servings

Ingredients

  • 200 gms Chowmein noodles
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 medium capsicum sliced
  • 1/2 cup cabbage sliced
  • 1 no green chilli slit
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp soya sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions

  • Boil more than enough water in a pan with little bit of oil. Let it come to a rolling boil. Add the chow mein cake to the boiling water and mix well. Let it sit in simmer for 3 minutes until its soft and smooth.
  • Strain the water and wash it with cold water. fluff it up and spread to cool down completely.
  • Heat oil, saute the sliced onions, ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute until onions turn pink.
  • Add cabbage, capsicum, tomato sauce, green chilli and Mix well
  • Add soya sauce, salt and fry for a minute. Now, add the cooked noodles to it and mix gently until well combined.
  • finally add pepper powder and drizzle some oil on top. Fluff it up and serve hot.

How to Cook noodles:
