heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds. add urad dal and chana dal to the oil. when it changes colour, add curry leaves and chopped onions.
Saute for 1 minute until onions are pink
add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt for frying. fry for 2 minutes until tomatoes are slightly mushy
add water and mix well. close and cook until tomatoes are cooked well.
open and mix again. add salt for onions and sevai.
drop in cooked sevai. mix thoroughly until sevai is well mixed with tomato mixture.
sprinkle grated coconut and mix again. enjoy tomato sevai with coconut chutney
