Chakka pradhaman is Jackfruit cooked in the flavor of jaggery and coconut milk.

Chakka pradhaman is one of the special dessert item served in sadhya.
Chakka pradhaman is prepared in two ways, one with the chakka varatti which is the jackfruit jam prepared exclusively for pradhamans and appams. This one is  freshly prepared. chakka varatti is prepared by caramelizing jackfruit with jaggery syrup and we usually store it in air tight container for even months.
But i prefer this one, freshly prepared and the chunks of jackfruit in the dessert is the highlight of this recipe.

It is in this vishu festive season that every malayali home you enter today , you never miss the chakka manam(smell). Wahh…how much ever fruits are arranged for kani, chakka will be the hero.
