Be it kichadi or upma.! when my mom says its upma/kichadi for breakfast, we react ehhhh! but no wonder we like hotel kichadis but not home made.
So today i tried Hotel style kichadi recipe…:)
|Inredients: chopped onions,carrot,beans,garlic,ginger, slit chillies,curry leaves|
|in a kadai, add ghee and mustard seeds, once it splatters add onions & curry leaves. Saute until translucent. not add chillies, ginger,garlic, turmeric powder|
|add 3 cups hot water (measurement is 1:3, i cup sooji – 3 cups water) and salt as per taste|
|add sooji slowly while stirring continously. when it comes to this stage, add ghee and mix well|
|mix until the consistency shown in the above pic and close the kadai and let it cook for 5-7 min in simmer|
|Kichadi goes well with sambar and chutney.. 🙂|
