I read this quote somewhere on internet “when i can cook, anybody can cook” ? Seriously, am laziest of all in my family. they all wonder how i could manage kid and work. I still am puzzled to understand why and how! Some kind of deep madness towards food? whatever it is, i get immense happiness to share my recipes to everyone.

This recipe is one of the routine curry opted for rice.

Nadan podi chicken curry directions:

I apologize i dint take step wise pics, i will be updating this post sooner with step wise pics.

  1. Marinate chicken with turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste and lime juice. set it aside for 30 min.
  2. Meanwhile, heat oil in an earthen pot. crackle mustard seeds, saute sliced shallots, sliced coconut pieces, finely chopped ginger and finely chopped garlic. saute until brown. put in chopped tomatoes, curry leaves and cook until mushy.
  3. Now that its time to add all masalas. Add chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and salt. mix everything together with little water and cook until raw smell goes off. approximately for 5 min.
  4. Then add the marinated chicken pieces, close and cook in medium flame until chicken is tender and cooked. add little water if necessary.
  5. Sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.

Ingredients

For Marination

  • 1/2 kg chicken
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp lime juice

For curry

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 3/4 cup shallots sliced thinly
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 2 inch ginger finely chopped
  • 4-5 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp sliced coconut pieces
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Instructions
