- 1 big sized chow chow - chopped to small pieces
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt - to taste
- 1/2 cup moong dal
To grind
- 2 nos green chillies
- 1 tsp raw rice
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp grated coconut
For seasoning
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 spring curry leaves
- 1 dry red chilli - broken into half
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida
Chop Chow chow to small cubes and cook them with turmeric powder, salt, Moong dal and water to 2 whistle Grind grated Coconut, cumin seeds, raw rice and green chilli to a fine paste and add to the cooked chow chow. Mix well and give it a boil.
Heat oil in a kadai, splutter mustard seeds, add in curry leaves, red chilli and asafoetida. Add this seasoning to the chow chow curry. serve hot!
