firstly, to prepare the cake pan, Apply butter all over the pan and sprinkle a tsp of flour into it. roll the pan to spread it all over. tap out the extra flour from the pan if any.
Prepare the cake flour. take a mixing bowl and sieve the flour into it. add salt and baking powder. Mix well and keep it aside.
Preparing the wet ingredients: put butter and sugar into another mixing bowl. Mix it with the help of whisker or blender
break eggs into it in intervals and mix it until fluffy and it rises up.
Add vanilla essence into the mixture. Mix again
add half of the flour prepared to the wet mixture. fold in until lump free and add milk little at a time
after adding milk and mixing it with flour , add the remaining flour. Mix again until it forms a smooth batter
divide the batter into two. To one portion of the batter, add the cocoa powder, sugar and milk. Mix again until smooth and lumps free
pour a ladle/spoon of the white batter into the centre of the cake pan.Followed by the chocolate batter into the centre of the white batter. Follow the same process until the batter is filled up in the cake pan.
Tap it slightly to release any air bubbles in the pan
preheat the oven to 180 deg Celsius. Bake the cake at 180 deg c for 35-40 minutes. take out and let it cool on a wire rack. make slices once its cool. zebra cake is ready!
