to grind:

  • 3 dry red chillies
  • 2 tbsp chopped onions
  • 9-10 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

other ingredients

  • 1.5 cups mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1.5 tbsp garlic chopped
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala


  • firstly grind together garlic, onions, red chilli and cumin to a fine paste. keep it aside until use
  • heat oil in a pan and roast the garlic chopped and curry leaves. also add chopped onions and fry until slightly brown. 
  • at this stage, add the prepared paste and mix well and fry until raw smell goes off. 
  • further add sliced mushrooms, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala and mix well. 
  • sprinkle little water, close and cook until mushrooms are soft. (5-10 minutes)
  • open and fry again to make it dry or leave it for a semi gravy consistency. 
  • serve hot with roti or rice. 



to make a dry version, cook for longer time until it gets roasted well.
