Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup urad dal
  • 1/8 cup raw rice
  • salt a pinch
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1/4-1/2 cup sugar - brown or white
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • oil - for deep frying

Instructions

  • soak urad dal and raw rice in water for 3-4 hours. drain it completely add salt and sugar and grind it to a thick paste adding very little water only if required.  
  • meanwhile, take 2 cups coconut milk and brown sugar. mix well and also add cardamom powder. keep it ready.
  • pinch the batter and drop into hot oil to make bondas. deep fry until oil sizzle stops and it turns golden brown.
  • strain in paper towel and then take it in the serving bowl. pour enough coconut milk to soak the bondas.
  • serve after 5-10 minutes once the bondas are soaked in it.
