To make the dumplings

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1/3 cup grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp country sugar
  • salt a pinch
  • 1/8 tsp cumin seeds

To make the coconut sauce

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp wheat flour
  • salt a pinch
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Other ingredients

  • 1/2 cup thick coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut - to garnish


to make the dumplings

  • In a mixing bowl, mix together wheat flour, grated coconut, country sugar, salt, and cumin seeds.
  • Add water little at a time and work to a smooth soft dough
  • Make tiny gooseberry sized balls and keep it ready.

Making the coconut sauce

  • Make a slurry of 2 tbsp wheat flour and mix it with 1 cup water.
  • Further add grated coconut, salt, and sugar. Mix well and let it get heated up.

Cooking the dumplings in sauce

  • Drop the prepared balls one at a time slowly into the vessel.
  • Let it cook on medium heat until all the balls start floating.
  • Put off and add thick coconut milk. Mix once and serve with grated coconut on top.
