to grind raw
- 1/2 cup coconut
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 2 no cloves
- 1 no cardamom
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 medium onion - finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp poppy seeds - soaked in hot water for 15 minutes
- 2 tbsp fried gram
- 1 medium tomato - chopped roughly
- 4-6 long green chilli
- 2 tsp cashews
to make the curry
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 medium onion - chopped
- 3 medium potatoes - chopped
- 2 sprig curry leaves
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp salt
Grind everything given under " to grind section" raw to a fine paste
heat oil in a cooker and crackle cumin seeds.
add chopped onions and chopped potatoes. fry them for 2 minutes on a high flame.
after 2 minutes, add curry leaves, prepared kurma paste, turmeric powder, 3 cups water or as desired
pressure cook for 4-5 whistles. let the pressure settle before you open.
serve piping hot with hot idlis.
