Chakka Pradhaman - Jack fruit pudding~Payasam

Ingredients

  • 1/4 th of medium sized jackfruit
  • 1 - 1/1/2 cup Jaggery
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup coconut pieces
  • Ghee

Instructions

  • Clean the jack fruit, chop individual chola(edible part) to small pieces.
  • Boil them with water in a closed vessel or pressure cook to 4 whistles. Grind it coarsely. The chunks you get inbetween the drink makes it tasty.
  • Meanwhile Melt the jaggery with little water. Filter it and keep it ready.
  • Transfer the ground jackfruit to thick bottom vessel and add the jaggery syrup. Mix well and let it cook for 15 min in simmer.
  • While it cooks, fry the coconut pieces in ghee and keep it ready.
  • Also prepare the fresh coconut milk. Mix coconut milk to the jaggery jack fruit mixture and mix well. Keep stirring.
  • When it starts to thicken switch it off. Add the fried coconut pieces and mix well.
  • Finally add a tsp ghee and serve the delicious pradhaman.
