Marinate chicken with turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste and lime juice. set it aside for 30 min.
Meanwhile, heat oil in an earthen pot. crackle mustard seeds, saute sliced shallots, sliced coconut pieces, finely chopped ginger and finely chopped garlic. saute until brown. put in chopped tomatoes, curry leaves and cook until mushy.
Add chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder and salt. mix everything together with little water and cook until raw smell goes off. approximately for 5 min.
Then add the marinated chicken pieces, close and cook in medium flame until chicken is tender and cooked. add little water if necessary.
Sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice
