  • ½ cup toor dal
  • ¼ cup shallots
  • ¼ cup jackfruit seeds
  • 1/2 cup white pumpkin chopped
  • 2 long drumstick
  • ¼ cup tamarind water
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp sambar powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • ½ cup coconut paste


  • ¼ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 1 red chilli broken


  • Pressure cook Toor dal until mushy.
  • Pour the Cooked dal in a pan
  • Together Put in Sliced shallots.
  • Add Jackfruit seeds sliced
  • Now together put in Pumpkin chopped, drumstick and tomato chopped
  • Pour in soaked tamarind water
  • Add turmeric powder
  • Add Sambar powder and salt
  • Sprinkle some curry leaves
  • Add water to make it runny and let the vegetables cook.
  • Once the vegetables are cooked, add the ground coconut paste.
  • Mix well and let it boil.
  • For seasoning: splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves and red chilli and add it to the curry.
