Ingredients

  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2-3 dry red chilli
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • 1 no green chilli
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1-2 tbsp chopped cashews
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 cups cooked rice - (1 cup-240ml)
  • 1/2 small sized lemon

Instructions

  • Heat oil, roast chana dal, urad dal, Coriander seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli, Garlic and mix well.
  • Add green chilli and grated coconut
  • Add Curry leaves
  • and fry until leaves are roasted and turns crispy.
  • Add salt and mix well
  • Grind the above mix to a fine powder and keep it ready.
  • Heat oil in a pan and Splutter mustard seeds
  • Add chopped cashewsGround powder/paste goes in next
  • add a pinch of Turmeric powder and mix well
  • Saute until aromatic and it mixes well.
  • Add cooked rice to it.Mix well.
  • Add lemon juice on top and fluff it up
