Ingredients

  • 2 cups yard long beans - broken
  • 10-12 no shallots - sliced to half
  • 2 no green chilli - slit vertically
  • 3/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp coconut bits
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 4-5 no red chilli
  • 10-12 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

Instructions

  • yard long beans is broken to 1.5 inch pieces and is taken in a pressure cooker. 
  • shallots, slit green chillies, coconut bits, turmeric powder, salt and 1 cup water is added to the cooker and mixed well.
  • close and pressure cook for 3 whistle in simmer-medium flame.
  • heat coconut oil in a mud pot or pan, crackle mustard seeds. while it crackles., roughly crush red chillies, garlic, cumin seeds in a mortar pestle.
  • add this crushed mixture, curry leaves and fry till raw smell goes off.
  • add the cooked beans mix and fry in simmer for 5-10 minutes until it shrinks and slightly gets roasted.
  • serve hot with rice and curry.
