  • 7 cooked idlis
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp chana dal
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 2 nos green chilli - slit
  • 2 tbsp cashews
  • 2 medium onion - finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp cooked peas
  • 2 nos babycorn - chopped
  • 4-5 no mushrooms - sliced
  • 3 tbsp beans - finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp carrot grated
  • saly to taste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp idli podi
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves - chopped


  • firstly scramble idlis and keep it aside. IF using fresh idlis, let i cool completely and then crumble it. heat oil in a pan and pop in mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal, green chillies, cashews and fry for half a minute. 
  • followed by chopped onions. fry onion until transparent.
  • add the vegetables to onions and add salt. fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • add turmeric powder, spicy idli podi and mix well.
  • add water and let it cook in simmer until all the water dries out. by this time, vegetables would have cooked.
  • further add crumbled idlis and mix well.
  • lastly add chopped coriander leaves and mix again. serve hot!
