for marination

  • 1/2 kg chicken - boneless
  • 3 tbsp corn flour
  • 3 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tbsp pepper powder
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp chilli paste - grind red chillies to paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 slice lemon

for sauce

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 no onion - sliced
  • 2 tbsp cashews
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers(red, green & yellow) - sliced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp chilli paste
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2-3 no red chillies
  • 2 tbsp corn flour water (2 tsp corn flour mixed with 2 tbsp water)
  • 1 tsp vinegar

for tempering

  • 1.5 tsp sesame seeds white


  • cut chicken into thin strips and mix everything given under marination together and marinate for 1 hour.
  • deep fry the marinated chicken pieces in hot oil until crisp and keep aside. 
  • for making sauce. heat oil in a pan, fry onions, cashews, bell pepper sliced until slightly brown. 
  • to this, add ginger garlic paste and red chilli paste. fry until raw smell goes off. 
  • further add soya sauce, tomato sauce, red chillies, sugar and mix well. 
  • lastly add corn slurry, vinegar, 1/8-1/4 cup water and give it a good mix. heat in simmer until it thickens and becomes saucy. 
  • when it is saucy, add fried chicken pieces and mix well. 
  • heat a tadka pan and fry sesame seeds until it pops. add it to the chicken, mix and serve hot
