  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/8 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 tsp split urad dal
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 2 no red chilli - broken
  • 2 tbsp peanuts
  • 1 medium raw mango - grated
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1.5-2 cups cooked rice


  • heat sesame oil in a pan and crackle mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, chana dal, split urad dal, curry leaves and red chilli. 
  • together add peanuts and fry for a minute. 
  • At this stage, add grated raw mango , turmeric powder and salt. Fry until it shrinks a little. 
  • Lastly add cooked rice at room temperature and fluff it up with fork gently. 
  • serve fresh with pickle/fryums
