Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 2 medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 tbsp broken cashews
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • salt to taste
  • 2 cups cooked rice

Instructions

  • Splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds and Bay leaf in ghee.
  • Add in urad dal, chana dal and curry leaves
  • Goes in Chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Add green chilli
  • put in Broken cashews and mix again until roasted
  • add grated carrots at this stage
  • along with turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala and salt
  • Mix well and close and cook until carrots are done.
  • Put in cooked rice and toss it gently.
