I got this sweet bonda recipe from one of my dear friend who said this is simple recipe that they make often. I have not had this recipe but wanted to try it as soon as i heard of it. it was super awesome and we all loved it.

soak urad dal and raw rice in water for 3-4 hours. drain it completely add salt and sugar and grind it to a thick paste adding very little water only if required.

meanwhile, take 2 cups coconut milk and brown sugar. mix well and also add cardamom powder. keep it ready.

pinch the batter and drop into hot oil to make bondas. deep fry until oil sizzle stops and it turns golden brown.

strain in paper towel and then take it in the serving bowl. pour enough coconut milk to soak the bondas.

serve after 5-10 minutes once the bondas are soaked in it.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup urad dal
  • 1/8 cup raw rice
  • salt a pinch
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1/4-1/2 cup sugar brown or white
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • oil for deep frying
