Mysore Pak recipe – traditional indian sweet recipe that involves quick and simple process of cooking gram flour in ghee/oil and sugar.
This recipe is done with just three ingredients – Besan flour, oil/ghee and sugar. one of the simplest sweet recipe but delicious one. Having its origin in Mysore, this dish is one of the ‘must be available’ sweet in any sweet shops/bakery in India

Servings: 25 Mysore pak
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup besan flour/gram flour
- 1 cup oil/ghee
Instructions
- Heat a pan and add sugar. Sugar is added in 1:2 Ratio. For 1 cup gram flour, 2 cups sugar is added.
- Add little water just enough to wet the sugar(approximately 1/2 cup water)
- Stir until sugar melts and attains the one string consistency.
- Now add gram flour little at a time. Since we are adding only 1 cup, I added it all at a time. If using more then add little at a time while you stir.
- add Oil after a minute and continuously stir until all the oil is absorbed and the batter gets thick
- It folds and gets together. You can see tears across the sides and froths on top. Some cases, froths are not seen, Then find it with the tear when you fold in.
- Grease a tray with ghee and pour the batter in. Pat it and let ti sit for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, make slices and keep it undisturbed until its firm. Remove pieces once its firm.
