Chakkakuru Muringakka curry is Drumstick and Jackfruit seeds curry for rice. This curry goes well also with idli/dosa. Simple tasty curry and will be made more often during summer when Jackfruits are in season.Chakkakuru Muringakka Curry

Chakkakuru Muringakka Curry pictorial Directions:

  1. Pressure cook Toor dal until mushy.
  2. Pour the Cooked dal in a pan
  3. Together Put in Sliced shallots.
  4. Add Jackfruit seeds sliced
  5. Now together put in Pumpkin chopped, drumstick and tomato chopped
  6. Pour in soaked tamarind water
  7. Add turmeric powder
  8. Add Sambar powder and salt
  9. Sprinkle some curry leaves
  10. Add water to make it runny and let the vegetables cook.
  11. Once the vegetables are cooked, add the ground coconut paste.
  12. Mix well and let it boil.
  13. For seasoning: splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves and red chilli and add it to the curry.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup toor dal
  • ¼ cup shallots
  • ¼ cup jackfruit seeds
  • 1/2 cup white pumpkin chopped
  • 2 long drumstick
  • ¼ cup tamarind water
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp sambar powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • ½ cup coconut paste

Seasoning:

  • ¼ tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 1 red chilli broken

Instructions

  • Pressure cook Toor dal until mushy.

  • Now together put in Pumpkin chopped, drumstick and tomato chopped
