paneer popcorn is a very much preferred starters that can be made easily at home. crispy snacks that can be made for kids and they will love it.
this delicious crunchy paneer starters is not only easy to make but very much ideal for party snacks just that you need to make well ahead and freeze without frying. Just when needed, can be taken out and fried. thats how i do when there are guests at home.

step by step recipe of paneer popcorn:
marinate the paneer: cut cubes from 200 gms paneer and take it in a mixing bowl. whisk curd until smooth and add it along with chilli powder, pepper powder and mix gently making sure you dont break the cubes.
flour batter: take another mixing bowl, add gram flour, corn flour, maida, red chilli powder, pepper powder, mixed herbs, garam masala, salt, and ginger garlic paste.
mix well, add water little at a time and whisk till smooth. the batter has to be sticky.
preparing bread crumbs: take another mixing bowl and add bread crumbs, chilli powder, mixed herbs and mix well.
dips and coats: take the paneer out of the curd mix and drop it in the flour batter. let the batter apply on all sides of paneer and take out from the batter on at a time.
drop it in the bread crumbs and roll till all sides are coated well. take it in a plate and freeze for 15 minutes. this is very important step to follow as the crumbs will fall off when dropped in hot oil. to get a crispy popcorn, freeze it before deep frying.
deep frying: when the oil is smoking hot, simmer it and drop the paneer popcorn and deep fry till reddish on all sides.
serve hot with tomato sauce and mayo of your choice

Ingredients
- Oil for deep frying
to soak paneer
- 200 gms paneer
- 1 cup whisked curd
- 1/4 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper powder
flour batter
- 1/2 cup gram flour
- 1/4 cup corn flour
- 1/3 cup maida/all purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp mixed herbs
- 3/4 tsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
bread crumbs batter
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 1/4 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp mixed herbs
Instructions
- marinate paneer with curd, chilli powder and pepper powder
- prepare the batter with gram flour, corn flour, maida, chilli powder, salt, garam masala, pepper powder, mixed herbs and ginger garlic paste.
- mix well and water little at a time to make thick sticky batter.
- take another mixing bowl and add bread crumbs, red chilli powder, mixed herbs and mix well.
- take the paneer out of the curd and drop it in the batter.
- next, take paneer out of the batter and drop it in the bread crumbs one at a time. roll it until well coated on all sides.
- prepare all the paneer and freeze for 15 minutes.
- take out the paneer and deep fry in hot oil until crisp and reddish
- serve hot with tomato sauce and mayo.
