Pathiya Samayal as we call it in tamilnadu, is a balanced food diet to be followed after delivery | after delivery food. the period after delivery is very much crucial for every mother as she has to gain back her strength and balance the changes mentally and physically that has happened to her and happening to her.
Many of the simple and helpful diets to be followed in India especially south India is way carried forward by our ancestors and three years back, when I was carrying and after my delivery, there were lot of recipes that i could note down from each and every relative of mine.

The combination of three oil is used in this recipe which is very good for health of the new mom. It makes the dish even more tastier. I got this tip of using three different oil from one of my relative during my post delivery period.
Either coconut oil + sesame oil + groundnut oil can be used (or) Ghee + coconut oil + sesame oil can be used.
- Firstly, heat the three different oil in a pan.
- crackle cumin seeds
- add the chopped garlic
- Further, chopped shallots is added and
- sprinkle salt for the onions to get fried
- put in the cooked rice, crushed peppercorns and mix well
- lastly, add turmeric powder and mix again keeping the flame on low heat.
- serve hot!
Garlic – Shallots rice – (after delivery Indian recipes)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp groundnut oil
- 2 tbsp garlic chopped
- 1 cup shallots chopped
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1-2 tbsp peppercorns crushed
Firstly, heat the three different oil in a pan and crackle cumin seeds
add the chopped garlic, chopped shallots ,salt and fry for 2 minutes.
put in the cooked rice, crushed peppercorns and mix well
lastly, add turmeric powder and mix again keeping the flame on low heat. serve hot!
