Coconut Rice or thengai sadham step by step pictorial description and video recipe. One of the most common variety rice recipe to make ina breeze of time either with left over rice or with freshly cooked rice.
Incase using freshly cooked rice, we need to cool it down by spreading the cooked rice onto a plate before adding it to the seasoning. Else it may tend to get mashed.

This rice is better to be had fresh rather than packing it for lunch as it is made of uncooked fresh coconut, rice get easily spoiled. So have it fresh and tasty.
Coconut rice recipe:
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp urad dal
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 2-3 dry red chillies - broken
- 1-2 tbsp cashews - broken
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 2 cups rice
- salt - to taste
- Heat coconut oil,Splutter mustard seeds
- add in urad dal and chana dal and saute till its slightly reddish
- Goes in red chilli broken and cashews
- Mix well and add grated coconut and salt
- Mix well and add cooked rice. Mix gently and serve with pickle or potato fry!
