chutta chammanthi recipe | thenga chammanthi with step by step pics and video recipe. chutta chammanthi is little different from the normal thenga chammanthi served in the Kerala sadhya.

“chutta” meaning “roasted in fire”, in this chutta chammanthi coconut is toasted till dark and then ground to coarse paste.

heat coconut oil few drops and add red chilli and coconut pieces. fry them until coconut pieces turn roasted.

take small onions, curry leaves, ginger and add the fried coconut red chillies to it along with salt. grind it to a coarse paste.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 2 no red chilli
  • 1 handful coconut pieces
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 1/4 inch ginger
  • 3 no small onion
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • heat few drops of coconut oil and roast red chilly and coconut pieces until roasted. 
  • take it along with small onions, curry leaves, ginger and salt and grind to coarse paste.
