How to make Arrowroot powder at home – Arrowroot powder recipe – Koova podi making at home needs a lot of effort in cleaning and filtering. But it is worth it and can be refrigerated and used for later.

During the thiruvathira season, a lot of koova/arrow root can be seen in Kerala and this is the right season to procure it and prepare the fresh batch of arrowroot powder.

It is used to make porridge, especially for children. It is used in both cooking and baking these days.  It’s used as a thickening agent and gluten-free flour. Many of its health benefits are associated with its starch content or the powder of this root vegetable, which may promote weight loss, treat diarrhea especially in children, and boost your immune system.

The process involves cleaning, chopping, grinding and filtering. There will be multiple filtering involved to clear out the impurities and get the pure white arrowroot powder. We make thiruvathira payasam using this koova powder.
